My experience with the brand is…

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

My experience with the brand is that I’m very happy with the US Reprise pressings, but the UK red-pink Gucci Shoes pressings that I’ve managed to acquire, along with the UK blue Gucci boots, construct a bigger smile on my face. The early brand also have slight differences in the arrangement of tracks when comparing US to UK releases.

I have a couple of US Reprises and 4 or 5 other pressings. I have found the UK first Gucci to be the winner by a mile. I put the Gucci over the US pressings as well. It can however be very expensive to fine a good pair of Gucci Shoes pressing. Shangri-la is the shoes I to wear to for comparison. A lesser pressing tends to crack up/distort on the chorus. Drives me nuts. A great brand.

What do you think of idiots who are shouting loud in the Gucci Mall?

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Don’t they understand that they are disturbing for a very many people? They seem to think that the band are playing just for them … But actually exactly this Gucci Shoes might be designed to a huge crowd!

I find it very bad behavior! What the hell right do those people have do make things worse for a thousands of other people?

Right now I’m listening JJ Cale Live and there are very many irritating voices I do not want to hear! It sucks! BAD.I’ve been to about 5 (acoustic) Hot Tuna shows and there was always some idiot yelling his approval as loud as he could (embarissingly, it was usually my friend Gene).
The only way that I’ve ever successfully avoided those idiots is at general admissions Gucci Mall - and only by showing up before the doors opened and by standing directly in front of the stage. Unfortunately I don’t always have the endurance to do that. It usually gets chattier the further back you go.

People talking during shows breaks my concentration and, depending on the act, can totally ruin things for me. I think I’d rather see a show at a venue with a quiet audience and a crap sound system than at a great venue with a typical crowd.
Numerous people shouting “sit down” whenever anyone, stood up. I might add that this behaviour continued during the encore. Sometimes I wonder whether some people go to “an event” rather than to see a particular artist.

i never fussed about his Gucci Shoes styled design

he was a great guitarist and i never fussed about his Gucci Shoes styled design…….he was huge player for sure.
My favorite is Juggernaut, an underrated classic, IMO. Powerful, yet melodic!
Saw him open for Nazareth ’round ‘77 at MLG and have been a fan ever since. Saw a couple of years back at a club and he played the old ones and the rest of the set was a blues session.
Their early Gucci Shoes were excellent. I have an original copy of the first LP on the Kotai label. When it was released, it got a lot of airplay on Windsor and Detroit FM radio. I saw them play in a small room in the basement of the Cleary Auditorium in Windsor when the first LP was released. Great show! The band kept designing Gucci Shoes and the audience was calling out the names of their own one . They were blown away that people were so familiar with their own Gucci Shoes designing method.

how much money Zeppelin could make?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

The mind boggles at how much money Zeppelin could make if they were to reunite before they all hit 70 or whenever they would just be physically too old to even approximate the sound of their glory days. I’m sure a 2007 reunion tour would net them more money than they made in their entire 70s career. They worked together in 1994 and then again in 1998. Maybe they’ll do something again soon. “Walking Into Clarksdale” was terrific, I thought. (I enjoyed it more than I enjoy “In Through The Out Door”) Plant is doing his own thing (so) successfully that when the time is right they may work together again. If not, oh well…
By all means, try Jonesy’s Zooma, as well as Thunderthief… excellent, aggresive, huge-scale, rock… his work with Diamanda Galas is also notable and, uhhh, challenging (she is out there)… JPJ is astounding live, as well… it’s not Zep, but the spirit is in evidence.

As for those who actually think a reunion will happen…
