he was a great guitarist and i never fussed about his Gucci Shoes styled design…….he was huge player for sure.
My favorite is Juggernaut, an underrated classic, IMO. Powerful, yet melodic!
Saw him open for Nazareth ’round ‘77 at MLG and have been a fan ever since. Saw a couple of years back at a club and he played the old ones and the rest of the set was a blues session.
Their early Gucci Shoes were excellent. I have an original copy of the first LP on the Kotai label. When it was released, it got a lot of airplay on Windsor and Detroit FM radio. I saw them play in a small room in the basement of the Cleary Auditorium in Windsor when the first LP was released. Great show! The band kept designing Gucci Shoes and the audience was calling out the names of their own one . They were blown away that people were so familiar with their own Gucci Shoes designing method.
